Mahatma Gandhi said that “where there is love there is life” (Inspiration by Gandhi). It is known that love increases the level of endorphins in blood, which are considered to make people rejoiced. However, love does not appear in and on itself. It is usually arisen after dating. There are different types of dating, such as traditional and online dating; both of them have their own advantages and drawbacks.
The main advantage of traditional dating is that it enables people to meet and communicate face to face with a view to know more about a partner. Words are the most effective weapon. Therefore, it allows to show person’s attitude and feelings in a proper way. Nevertheless, traditional dating usually requires a lot of money and time spending, which are quite important for contemporary people.
Controversially, “40 million Americans use online dating services” (Online Dating Statistics). That is more than 70% of the unmarried adult American population. Therefore, it is more feasible to find a partner using the Internet, rather than in real life. Eventually, online dating may be transformed into traditional dating. However, people may not be attracted to each other when they meet. Furthermore, personal correspondence, which was conducted in an online dating service, can be discovered by other people, for example, hackers.
In conclusion, “the meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed” (Jung 49). People might try different types of dating to find this reaction and choose most suitable types for them.
